A STITCH IN TIME

         “A Stitch in Time” honors the repetitive small gesture that grows—over time and with great patience—into a large, complex work. Because of the increased use of machines and technology in
manufacturing, humble handicrafts such as quilting and weaving have entered the realm of art expression. The creators of these works are freed from simple considerations of the practical to focus upon the fanciful and the aesthetic.
          This exhibit will open with a reception onSunday, November 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
and will run until December 19, 2011. The work of two Ashland artists is featured: Kris Hoppe and Rochelle Newman. Come experience a variety of their colorful fiber artwork.
